Meet Justine
Justine is one of those people that makes you smile, just by being in her presence. When crafting this collection, we thought of Justine, not only because of her warmth and the way it seems to extend to anyone lucky enough to be in her proximity–but because she is continuously working to make our community a better, safer, more inclusive place to live.
As the owner and curator of La Chic Boutique, a consignment store in downtown Sandpoint featuring creative and whimsical wares from local artists and inspiring craftspeople, Justine can often be found behind her own counter. As any local knows, this means you get to see Justine whenever you need a gift for a friend, the perfect item to bring to a gathering or a little something to brighten your own day.
Outside of La Chic, Justine is hard at work making our community, and communities like ours, safer and more inclusive for people and families facing mental health struggles. Specifically, Justine heads the Ethan Murray Fund, an organization dedicated to providing therapy for teens and adults who may face barriers in accessing healthcare or financial constraints.
For The Ethan Murray Fund, Justine and her husband Matt utilize thru-hiking as a fundraising method, embarking on epic journeys with a shared commitment to mental health advocacy–efforts like their 900-mile undertaking of the Idaho Centennial Trail (ICT) in 2021 and the 1200-mile Pacific Northwest Trail (PNT) in 2023. Justine’s slogan, “Here for the Pine Trees” is a nod to the transformative effect of spending time in nature, and the power of getting lost amongst the trees to help us find ourselves.
